3 Points – March 27 – AJ

ed note: this section was the initial idea behind this blog...now it's finally happening. basically each writer will preview the articles they plan on writing that week (or something like that). quality journalism here. and organization, too.

1. The Title is City's To Lose... Or is it?
First, let's take a look at the EPL table –

Pos
Team
PldWDLGFGAGDPtsQualification or relegation
1Chelsea3121646223+39692014–15 UEFA Champions League group stage
2Liverpool3121558439+4568
3Manchester City2921357927+5266
(thanks wikipedia)

On paper, the title is easily City's to lose. Only 3 points (haha) behind table toppers City and with 2 more games to play? Easy math. They have a possible 27 points to still earn, whereas Chelsea and Liverpool have only 21. Even if all 3 teams win all of their remaining matches (which they can't as they're playing each other), City will win at a canter. But football's never that simple.

Let's look at each team's individual run-in now:

Standout Games:
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace and Cardiff (a): A wounded team is a scary team. No one would have predicted Wigan to go undefeated for their last 10 or so games 2 years ago, but they did. Crystal Palace have a strong defensive approach thanks to Tony Pulis, so they're a tough nut to crack away. Chelsea should probably still walk away with this one, in my opinion. Cardiff will be equally difficult, but only if there's still a chance of them staying up. If they're out, they won't care and Chelsea will win like 4-0.

Chelsea vs Liverpool (a): This one could be a title decider if City capitulates. Massive fixture at Anfield, following Chelsea's narrow victory over the Liverpool (sorry) at Stamford Bridge around New Year's.

I think Chelsea will win all of their remaining games, except the Liverpool game at Anfield, which will be decided by the difference in quality between SAS and BET. lol. Let's make BET a thing.
Tottenham (h) : LOL JK

Liverpool vs Man City (h): This is the real title decider (sorry Chelsea fans). I think it'll end in a draw, but Anfield has been an absolute fortress this year. Liverpool could take it right here. I'll fucking lose my lunch, but it could happen.

Man City vs Arsenal (a): This could be the banana peel for City. Let's take a moment and LAUGH OUR ASSES OFF at the Arsenal fans that thought this would be the title decider for them back in October. I fucking told you. Anyway, if Wenger gets his defense right, this could be a draw at best, in my opinion. However, if Arsenal win they can be considered title challengers at least until their Everton game.

Man City vs So'ton (h): Another one that could slip up City, but I think they have the quality to pull through.

Predictions:
City really has it in their hands. If they avoid defeat in their next two fixtures against Arsenal and So'ton, a loss to Liverpool will leave them still in first by their massive goal difference. Liverpool also have it to lose, but only in the sense that they absolutely must beat both Chelsea and City to win it. Squeaky bum time.

2. Real United Fans Will Keep Their Bitching About 'The Chosen One' To Themselves

I feel like all the Moyes bitching is just giving the ABUs ammunition. Only a delusional fan would've expected us to even get slightly close to last season with the squad he inherited. I think his tactics could improve. I don't necessarily think he is definitely staying next year (if he really has lost the dressing room), but if he does, I think he needs a lot more time and to bring in his own players. Having a renewed squad and not having Europe next season will give him some sort of advantage and he could prove some doubters wrong. If we fire a manager after one bad year we'd just be pulling a Chelsea, which is not how football should be done. If we say, wait till next year, we're just being a Liverpool. If we buy 10 players this summer we'll be pulling a City. Gotta make a choice.

If Moyes still has no improvement come February, let him be replaced by Ole or Giggs. Just my opinion

3. Everton Are Sneaking Up On Arsenal
I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet cause I don't want to jinx it, BUT...

Everton are mighty close to Arsenal, and they're meeting right after Arsenal drops points to Citeh...

We shall see...
